About the Pug

The Pug is an ancient Chinese breed that has been a beloved companion for over 2,000 years, once cherished by Chinese emperors and later becoming the official dog of the Dutch House of Orange. Known for their motto 'multum in parvo' (a lot in a little), Pugs pack enormous personality into their compact, square bodies. With their flat faces, wrinkled brows, and large, expressive eyes, Pugs seem to display an almost human range of emotions. They are clownish, charming, and intensely people-oriented dogs that live to love and be loved.
