About the English Toy Spaniel

The English Toy Spaniel, known as the King Charles Spaniel in the UK, is a gentle, aristocratic toy breed that has been a favorite of British royalty since the Tudor period. King Charles II was so devoted to his spaniels that he was accused of neglecting matters of state in favor of his dogs. English Toy Spaniels have a domed head, pushed-in face, and large, dark, melting eyes that give them an expression of perpetual sweetness. They are quieter, more reserved, and less active than their cousin, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, making them ideal for calm households.
